Dash and Dot Collection

Coating

The ancestral rescue that inhabits the thinking behind our new collection was the pattern created by the French monk and polymath, Sébastien Truchet, who in the 17th century developed the tile pattern with radial symmetry that allows for various combinations based on its rotation. These mathematical precepts combined with current parametric modeling tools have provided us with a vast field of possibilities and compositions originating from the same design. This dichotomy has also been graphically translated into the two lines of patterns created - Dash and Dot. With distinct personalities, our patterns instigate the creativity of experimenting with unconventional layouts, where even an “error” can be controlled, foreseen and appreciated. Dash Pattern The unpretentious, manual and spontaneous gesture of the line that has no end, that runs through the environment, adorns and entertains. This is the main inspiration for the dash pattern, which in addition to its unusual shape also creates a space for experimenting with compositions that always connect, regardless of the orientation of the pieces. This combination of free forms defined by geometric rigor creates versatile and expressive pieces for use in any type of environment. Dot Pattern A dot can be the smallest element of an image and also that which marks the beginning and the end. Following the same logic as Truchet, we distribute and organize the elements within a Cartesian grid, generating points that connect between pieces or that create paths within the tile itself. These patterns, which can be freely combined, allow for a wide variety of layouts that mark points, paths, or draw shapes that inspire connection in any environment. To facilitate the application of our pieces without losing our identity, we suggest three color combinations from the Dalle Piagge palette that guarantee the creation of transformative environments. Inspired by nature, we created a combination related to Brazilian trees, which generate more sober and elegant applications, and two combinations related to fruits, which generate more lively and uninhibited applications. The colors of the tiles in the Superlimão line are the result of studies of our own projects and combinations drawn from the imagination and experience of contemporary human beings, and therefore go beyond fashion trends. Despite this, we recognize that the combinations are infinite, and that harmony can be found in unexpected arrangements. That is why we make the entire palette available from Dalle Piagge available for the creation of new compositions and unusual atmospheres.
