Ambev Poli

São Paulo

The Ambev On project was born from a partnership between Ambev and Poli (Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo), aiming to connect students with the job market through research and investigation on topics such as innovation and entrepreneurship. The topic is very relevant, as we've long noticed that office projects are increasingly resembling universities themselves, places of exchange and collaboration. This time, the challenge was to bring the best of the corporate environment to the university environment. The project consists of retrofitting a 400m2 area located in one of Poli's original buildings. Much of the work focused on restoring and enhancing the building's architecture, emphasizing its history and the environmental comfort techniques present. The openings, which had been closed over numerous renovations, had their spans enlarged to improve the quality of lighting and ventilation in the spaces, as well as establishing a connection with the campus's outdoor areas, bringing the pleasant landscape and rich greenery into the space. Acoustics also received special attention and attention in the design to ensure comfort and quality in the use of the spaces. To meet the program's diverse demands, dynamic and flexible spaces were created, allowing for different configuration possibilities, such as smaller rooms for internal brainstorming meetings, booths for quick informal meetings, individual phone booths, and an auditorium. One of the project's highlights, considering this demand, was the creation of a motorized mobile bleacher, which moves along a track, allowing the configuration of a larger or smaller area, depending on the need (which can range from 30 to 50 people). Depending on its size, this area can function as an auditorium or as a space for work, presentations, and events. Furthermore, the space beneath the bleachers was optimized and used for the installation of phone booths. In developing the project, the choice was to keep some of the constructed elements, their techniques, and materials used, exposed, so that the space itself would inspire and educate the students who will attend. The side of the grandstand received a transparent element that allows the visualization of its internal structure. The drywall walls were developed in transparent polycarbonate so that its structure was visible, exposing the way in which it was conceived and executed.
