Appito
São Paulo
Appito Arena is the first physical environment of Appito, a virtual platform created to connect amateur players and soccer lovers. The challenge of the project created by Superlimão was to bring all the cutting-edge technology available in the world of professional soccer to the real world, making the experience even more complete.
A professional infrastructure is offered with two official soccer pitches and four locker rooms, in addition to other programs to serve not only the players, but also fans, family and friends who are not attending the game.
A video game area for those waiting at the entrance, a bar with a fully equipped kitchen, a room for parties and events and a highlight for the fully equipped kiosks, with barbecue grills, TVs, for groups to gather in total comfort and privacy.
The identity of the project focused on the basic elements of the soccer universe, such as the goalpost and the panels of the ball, as inspiration for the geometry of the structures, added to the colors and neon lights of the digital universe.
Sustainability was one of the project's premises, and passive techniques were used to minimize energy use and create healthier environments. Aiming to control the temperature of the internal environments of the metal modules without the aid of active systems such as air conditioning, permanent cross ventilation was created through the geometry of the assembly with the mismatch of the seals in insulating panels with the masonry base. This system works by connection even on windless days, ensuring not only a more pleasant environment, but also a healthier one for its users.
This same geometric design that allows air circulation prevents the entry of rainwater. The use of this material in the module enclosures also prevents the thermal effects of solar radiation.
The shape of the portico also guided the entry of natural light into the assembly and allowed tasks to be carried out during the day without any aid from artificial lighting. The white color of the internal coating reflects the sunlight through the light tray and, subsequently, diffuse lighting enters the entire interior. Nighttime lighting with neon and LEDs enhances the user experience by creating a playful setting related to the digital world and connected with the colors of the various soccer teams.
Permanent cross ventilation not only controls the temperature of the environment, but also does so using non-mechanized natural resources. Performing tasks with diffuse natural lighting also has its benefits and is encouraged within the project programs.
The design strategy of creating components in series and organizing them in different spans and angles gives the construction spatial and architectural possibilities. The speed of manufacturing and assembly are also notable factors. The parts are fixed with screws, making labor easier. The simplicity of the construction site in view of this construction system is also a reason to emphasize, optimizing logistics and the need for space. The modular gantries and the seals of the typologies work with the metric coordinations already available in the industry, thus reducing leftovers and waste to a minimum.
The project's visual identity reinforces the increasingly frequent interaction between the physical and digital environments, and the program allows users to interact with a professional football structure, a very popular sport and an important part of Brazilian culture. The geometry of the complex reinforces the use of natural and renewable solutions for thermal and lighting comfort.
