CA House

São Paulo

The project for Fernando Jaeger's new ready-to-deliver store covers 400 m² and is spread over three floors: the basement, which contains the parking lot and the loading and unloading area, the ground floor and upper floor, which house the furniture products developed by the brand, and support and service areas. As a starting point, we sought to create a spacious store that could showcase the diversity of products in the FJ line while also being a flexible space capable of meeting the brand's dynamics. In order to work on a prominent element of Fernando Jaeger's products, the idea for the facade came up. The Deliciosa chair, which is organic and looks like an Adam's Rib (Monstera deliciosa). Observing this species, we can see that it creates volumes of different sizes and colors due to its growth. From this, we made an analysis that focused on FJ's own production, which made the pieces custom-made for the project. These openwork pieces create a play of light and shadow that makes the store's interiors more dynamic. Furthermore, at night, they allow artificial light to pass through to the street, highlighting the FJ and transforming it into an urban light fixture. From the double-height entrance, it is possible to see the full depth of the space, marked by the open plan and interrupted only by two small volumes of pine wood – where the bathroom and elevator are located – that surround the service warehouse. The remaining space is dedicated to the display of products that are arranged according to the modulation of the structure or displayed on shelves, also made of pine wood, designed to measure. In the rear area, a pergola was created that, in addition to reinforcing the depth of the store, provides a transition between the interior and exterior created at the back. In this space, there is a vertical planter that brings the presence of vegetation into the space. The upper floor is marked by trellises and pine ceiling, which dialogue with the display furniture created, creating a single unit throughout the space. The modulation of the metal structure is also used for the distribution of electrical installations, serving as a basis for the lighting project.
