Mrs. Vitamin

São Paulo

Dona Vitamina is a restaurant located in the Pinheiros neighborhood for almost 10 years, with a well-established visual identity and language that is recognized by its customers: cheerful, fun, healthy, comfortable and welcoming. The renovation of the original project, also carried out by Superlimão, aimed to give customers the feeling of being in the same restaurant, but noticing the maturity and evolution of the restaurant through the architecture. The new project did not interfere with the existing operation and layout. The priority was to apply new materials, colors, furniture, landscaping and lighting. Cheerful, calm and light colors predominate in the new environments, with emphasis on the painted peeled brick walls (original to the restaurant), the pink granite of the countertops and the hydraulic tile that creates a gradient on the floor and counter. The hydraulic tile is from the “Organic Line” collection, designed by Superlimão exclusively for Dalle Piagge. With a rectangular layout, the house has a sort of porch at the front with a retractable roof. This roof allows the space to remain open on moderately sunny days, making it the preferred area for those who visit Dona Vitamina with their pets. Passing through the “porch”, there is a hallway with tables and, to the left, the kitchen area. At the back, an area with double height ceilings and intense natural light, gives it a cozy feel that reminds one of a backyard. Added to this space is a revamped landscaping and a wall of white tiles with colored grout that follows the color of the painted brick on the wall next to it. Along the wall on the right side (opposite the kitchen) there is a bench with green and pink leather upholstery, which runs from the porch to the “backyard” at the back of the lot, allowing tables to be joined or separated according to the layout’s needs. There is a single round table strategically located in front of the charming window that overlooks the façade, with lighting fixtures by designer Nicole Tomazi (Liquidificador wall light and Genius Loci pendant light) made from natural fiber. One of the objectives of these fixtures was to support small producers and crafts. The existing furniture was also replaced or renovated, such as the application of new upholstery to the existing bench. For this project, a new color palette was proposed, through the application of hydraulic tiles on the floor and white patina on the large volume of carpentry that covered the kitchen, in addition to the wooden ceiling applied to the hallway area, making the space brighter. The pine countertops gave way to pink granite, and the much-loved yellow gate at the entrance was renewed through the application of a more burnt yellow tone. The main challenge was to develop a renovation project seeking a more mature and renewed concept, without losing the brand's identity, which was already so well-established and consolidated.
