Dona Vitamina
São Paulo
Dona Vitamina has been a restaurant in the Pinheiros neighborhood for almost 10 years, with a well-established visual identity and style recognized by its customers: cheerful, fun, healthy, comfortable, and welcoming. The renovation of the original design, also carried out by Superlimão, aimed to give customers the feeling of being in the same restaurant, while also embodying the restaurant's maturity and evolution through its architecture.
The new design did not interfere with the existing operations or layout. The priority was the application of new materials, colors, furniture, landscaping, and lighting. Cheerful, calm, and light colors predominate in the new spaces, with highlights including the painted peeling brick walls (original to the restaurant), the pink terrazzo countertops, and the hydraulic tile that creates a gradient on the floor and counter. The hydraulic tile is from the "Organic Line" collection, designed by Superlimão exclusively for Dalle Piagge.
With a rectangular floor plan, the house has a sort of porch in the front with a retractable roof. This roof allows the space to remain open on moderately sunny days, making it a favorite spot for those who visit Dona Vitamina with their pets.
Passing through the "porch," there's a hallway with tables, and to the left is the kitchen area. At the back, a double-height area with intense natural light creates a welcoming atmosphere reminiscent of a backyard. This space is complemented by revamped landscaping and a white tile wall with colorful grout that matches the color of the painted brick on the adjacent wall.
Along the right-hand wall (opposite the kitchen) is a bench with green and pink leather upholstery, which extends from the porch to the backyard, allowing tables to be combined or separated according to the layout's needs.
A single round table is strategically located in front of the charming window overlooking the facade, featuring lighting pieces by designer Nicole Tomazi (Liquidificador wall light and Genius Loci pendant) made from natural fiber.
The specification of these pieces aims to support small producers and artisans.
The existing furniture was also replaced or renovated, such as the application of new upholstery to the existing bench. For this project, a new color palette was proposed, with the application of hydraulic tile on the floor and a white patina on the large volume of carpentry that covered the kitchen, in addition to the wood ceiling applied to the hallway area, creating a brighter space. The pine countertops gave way to pink granite, and the beloved yellow entrance gate was refreshed with the application of a more burnt yellow tone.
The main challenge was to develop a renovation project seeking a more mature and renewed concept, without losing the brand's identity, already so well-established and consolidated.
