Google Campus
São Paulo
Since 2016, a six-story building in the Paraíso neighborhood of São Paulo has been home to the São Paulo Campus, a Google space dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship. Designed by the architecture firm Superlimão, the building’s floors are divided into two types of spaces: those open to the public and those reserved for Google and partner startup programs. The project is also a green building, holding LEED certification, and incorporates regional materials and furniture made from recycled and recyclable content, along with automated air conditioning and lighting systems.
The ground floor houses the lobby and an auditorium equipped to host a wide range of events and lectures, featuring a large screen, lapel microphones, headsets, boom microphones, and a sound and video control booth on the upper level. Upon entering, elevators provide access to all six floors and two basement levels. Areas open to registered members are located on the fifth and sixth floors. The fifth floor offers a workspace with benches and chairs, upside-down payphones repurposed as armchairs, a quiet zone, and enclosed acoustic booths for calls. This floor also includes a spacious lounge area with a sofa, pool table, and foosball table. The sixth floor features a café, tables and chairs, and a terrace with wooden benches and counters.
From the first to the third floors, spaces are dedicated to startups selected by the Campus programs. The fourth floor contains workshop areas and offices for the São Paulo Campus team. The interior design is inspired by the “concrete jungle” concept and incorporates elements of São Paulo’s culture. Meeting rooms celebrate diversity by referencing the city’s festivals, such as Virada Cultural, Festa de Achiropita, and Chinese New Year.
