Google Campus
São Paulo
Since 2016, a six-story building in the Paraíso neighborhood of São Paulo has housed the São Paulo Campus, a Google space that fosters entrepreneurship. With an architectural design by Superlimão, the floors are divided into two types of spaces: those open to the public and floors dedicated to Google and partner startup programs. In addition, the project is a green building, with LEED certification, and uses regional materials and furniture made from recycled and recyclable content, as well as automation of the air conditioning and lighting systems.
The ground floor houses the Lobby and an Auditorium equipped to host all types of events or lectures, with a wide-screen screen, lapel microphones, headsets and boom microphones, as well as a sound and video control booth upstairs. Upon entering, elevators provide access to the six floors and two basements. The areas open to registered members are on the fifth and sixth floors. The fifth floor has a work area with a bench and chairs, with upside-down payphones that have been transformed into armchairs, a “silence area” and closed booths for calls with acoustic insulation. Also on this floor, a large and inviting area shares spaces with a sofa, pool table and table football. The sixth floor houses a café, tables and chairs and a terrace with wooden benches and counters. From the first to the third floor, there is an area dedicated to startups selected by the Campus programs. The fourth floor houses an area for workshops and also the São Paulo Campus team. The decor is inspired by the “concrete jungle” concept and contains several elements of São Paulo culture. The meeting rooms represent diversity through the city’s festivals, such as Virada Cultural, Achiropita and Chinese New Year.
