Marvel Barbershop by Corleone

São Paulo

The Superlimão architecture firm has created yet another innovative project: Marvel Barbershop by Corleone, the first Marvel-themed barbershop in Brazil, in an official partnership with Disney. Located on the corner of Avenida Faria Lima and Cidade Jardim, in São Paulo, the new space offers an immersive experience, transporting customers to the universe of Marvel comics with a setting that recalls New York in the 1950s, with a strong presence of the Art Deco style. With 450m², 18 chairs and capacity to serve up to 250 customers per day, Marvel Barbershop by Corleone goes beyond simple themed decoration, providing a narrative experience where the customer feels part of the superhero universe. Featuring a setting based on classics, such as the “Marvels” series, a graphic novel released in 1994, where the Marvel Universe is portrayed from the perspective of ordinary humans, the project connects parents and children through the rich heritage of comics, creating a complete immersion in the world of heroes. Disney Experience for Adults The essence of the Disney experience was conceived with a narrative focused on the adult audience, offering an immersive journey inspired by the heroes' journey. The story told in the space is that of a barbershop in a universe inhabited by superheroes, but experienced from the perspective of an ordinary person. “The big challenge was to create a high-level experience that went far beyond a decor full of obvious references. We wanted to create an experience worthy of Disney, without falling into the cliché,” says Lula Gouveia, partner at Superlimão and a Marvel fan, who used his personal comic book collection as a reference for the project. The Hero's Journey - Architectural and narrative experience The architectural design of the barbershop proposes a journey that follows the narrative evolution of the experience. The reception area evokes the classic Corleone style, with carefully designed Art Deco details. In this space, the first clues to the theme already appear, such as the comic books available for reading while customers wait. The lounge area has a discreet touch that suggests a space that could easily be frequented by superheroes. The structure includes stained glass windows with iconic heroes, designed to create Instagrammable moments and attract the attention of passersby. Superlimão designed every detail of the space, including custom-made furniture that ensures complete integration with the Marvel identity. Each space was planned to build a narrative of transformation: from the reception to the interior of the barber shop, visitors embark on an immersive journey. The spaces dedicated to washing hair integrate the experience and lead to the climax of the narrative.
