SKR Headquarters
São Paulo
Located on the top two floors of a building in São Paulo, the headquarters of the real estate developer SKR
underwent an expansion and update. The project sought to create spaces where
people could connect more frequently and exchange knowledge collaboratively.
The reception area is on the lower floor, and the project involved changes to the space from the elevator lobby onward.
The entire space was clad in perforated metal sheets, and a crochet panel by Atelier Srta. Galante was installed in the window, bringing transparency and delicacy to the
space. This area provides a visual connection to the library located on the upper floor
through glass. The reception desk was designed and manufactured by SuperLimão. It was
made using panel slabs and has two heights for different activities.
Meeting rooms and work areas are located on both floors, with the upper floor housing
board and management offices and more private meeting rooms. The vertical connection
between the floors is provided by a staircase inside the office, covered in perforated metal sheeting.
A connection hub was created in the central circulation area. The area was designed as a
space for exchanging ideas, but also for working on other activities. A
lounge was created, where a high-back sofa creates privacy so people can chat or
take phone calls more privately. A counter runs along the entire side of the room.
In this area, a dynamic, multipurpose room was also designed, flexible enough to
accommodate various situations. This is because the room's table can be divided in two, creating
more flexibility for holding more than one meeting at a time. Panels that
open and close were installed to accommodate each meeting's privacy, and the room features whiteboards for interaction and brainstorming.
On the same floor, located on the opposite side of the office, next to the staff area,
a high-top table was provided for team meetings. The table's dimensions
allow for opening large project sheets and, at the same time, its height,
encourages quick, stand-up discussions to solve problems. Finally, all these spaces are
framed by a shelf that runs around the office, following the frame.
The project sought to update the spaces to reflect new ways of
working: spaces that promote new dynamics for knowledge exchange and offer
greater flexibility of use.
